LIFE ISN’T FULL UNTIL JESUS FILLS THE GAP
Welcome to GAP
Gracepoint’s unique ministry for Grade 4 to 6 children.
Gap is not only the children, but encompasses everything from children to parents to leaders and teachers. There is an opportunity for everyone to be part of this amazing ministry! We exist for the teaching and leading of children, promoting faith development and discipleship, as we try to lead our children into becoming authentic followers of Christ.
At GAP, we recognize that providing a safe environment for relationships is an integral part of earning and keeping the trust of children, families and parents. As we lead and disciple, we must make every effort to be wise in all situations. Taking care of each student and keeping them safe is of utmost importance. As GAP leaders, we partner with you, the parents, to care for your child in spiritual, emotional and physical ways.

Sunday Worship Offerings

GAP Sundays LIVE worship services
Dear GAP Family
We hope that you are keeping well. We are so looking forward to being able to reopen our GAP Grade 4 to 6 ministry class for on campus services and ministry events (from Sunday 11th October 2020). As we aim to keep one another safe, we will only be opening the GAP Ministry at 50% capacity for both the 08:15 and 10:00 service taking place on a Sunday morning. The total number Grade 4 to 6 attendees per service will be restricted to only 15 people, with pre-registration of each child in this age group becoming mandatory.
The document below aims to assist you by outlining the standard operating procedures which will be taking place at the GAP ministry when meeting in the physical GAP space. Please note that we will be taking every precaution to ensure that you and your family are kept safe as you join us for worship at Gracepoint Church. We ask that you, in turn assist us in keeping our staff, leaders, teachers and children safe by adhering to the standard operating procedures which are outlined in this document below.

GAP Sundays OnLine
A lesson video is available every week on GAP Online. This lesson is often series based, as we discuss a specific subject for a few weeks. A lesson pack is also available every week which contains activities that can be used throughout the week to reinforce and engage the lesson.
An additional video is also available which is called GAP Worship. This is an additional resource aiming to encourage and enable your children to worship God through musical worship and praise.

GAP Sunday 25 July:
What‘s happening at GAP?
July and August at Gracepoint are traditionally “Justice Month”! In this time, we focus on the importance of social
justice as an expression of holiness, or in other words, we focus on how as Jesus followers we need to follow the
example of Jesus in the way he lived, ministered and treated people: fairly, kindly, caringly, with mercy, grace and truth and working for all people, never mind who they were, so that all people could be included, treated justly and cared for in and by the family of believers, that we nowadays call ‘The Church’.
Some learnings from today’s lesson:
Þ 3 simple rules that Jesus gave us, as the greatest superhero of all time, to be more like him, when it comes to
Justice: 1. Do good, 2. Do no harm, 3. Love God
Þ As part of our 3 simple rules, we need to do good. This is not only about our personal holiness (how we love God), but also about social holiness (how we love people), which is a commitment to addressing the needs of others.
Þ Charity responds to immediate needs. Justice responds to long-term needs. Charity, we are showing Jesus’ love, mercy, kindness and care to them by doing physical things, or acts to help meet their needs. We also need to look at justice… how do we fix things that are not right or fair?
GAP Parents

Something we strive to do as a GAP team, is to partner with our GAP parents, guardians and community for the continued discipleship of the GAP children. We believe that ministry to children should be home-centered and church supported, and so we have developed some resources such as our Bridge the GAP sheet which is a Faith at home resource. Please check out some of the resources available.
Our Mission
To be a ministry for grade 4 to 6 children that empowers them to approach spirituality, service, justice, evangelism and development in a way that is fun and reflects their faith in Christ. We aim to be an engaging and exciting ministry for middle schoolers, helping them make the truth we learn, practical in their daily lives. We are all about helping young people connect with each other as well as with God. We also challenge young people to serve and get involved in the life and ministry of the church.

To raise a generation who live out what it means to be “finding grace, living changed”
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” – Deuteronomy 11:18-19
Getting Involved
The GAP Ministry depends on leaders and servers in order to continue to minister to the children effectively. Due to the nature of the GAP Ministry there are loads of different ways and areas of getting involved. If you would like to get involved, get more involved, or would like to assist in setting up new ways of getting involved, please contact the GAP Pastor: Ilse – ilse@gracepoint.co.za
