We continue to be a miracle in the making within the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, and present an unconventional, but unique and exciting way of doing church.
Our short history can be summed into the following periods.
1997 - 2003
Purchase of the land by Bryanston Methodist church and inviting Rev Gary and Jacqui Rivas to start a church.
2004 - 2010
Starting Lonehill Methodist Church (later Gracepoint), with the fund raising campaign, the building process and moving into the new church building.
2010 - 2018
Establishing a worshiping community – including learning what it means to be a community with it’s own building, identity, culture and values.
2019 - 2025
Looking beyond ourselves and preparing for new development and growth around where we are. To also prepare to be at the forefront of driving change and bring about innovation in the larger Methodist movement.
We started out as Lonehill Methodist Church in 2004, a church plant that originated through Bryanston Methodist Church.
God has been shaping and forming us from a handful of members to a vibrant church community with in excess of 1800 members of all ages. Our journey so far has been a story of the faitfulness of God and of His people who have together become a community and continue to be a Church that brings about transformation, healing and justice, as God’s glory is revealed and his purposes are established.
