Our prayer ministry

Praying hands 3

At Gracepoint we believe in the awesome power of prayer and we are striving to be a community that is characterised by prayer. If you need prayer, we have a team in place that is ready to pray for you, or if you want to become part of the prayer ministry, we would love to have you onboard.

The Prayer Ministry consists of a dedicated prayer chain, the Two or More group, 24/7 prayer rooms,  the Altar Prayer Team and  Pre-service Prayer Team.

  • Prayer Chain: All prayer requests coming into Gracepoint are placed on the prayer chain, and are prayed for on an immediate and ongoing basis by our team members. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance to us, and your prayer requests are treated with the greatest care.
  • Two or More(ToM) group: A small group of intercessors meets every week, to pray in depth over all of the prayer requests from the previous week, asking the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment, and seeking Gods will for all of His people.
  • 24/7 Prayer Rooms: Gracepoint has two 24/7 prayer rooms that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. They are open to anyone needing a sacred space for prayer.
  • Altar Prayer: The purpose of this ministry is to pray for anyone with prayer needs immediately after Sunday services in the sanctuary.
  • Pre-Service Prayers: in the Upper Room, before each service, we offer up prayer for every aspect of the service and for our congregation.
AWAKEN - Prayer for Revival Campaign

What is AWAKEN?

We believe that as a local church we have been called to pray for revival and believe that if we do not ready ourselves, God will pass us by. We responded to the call of setting up an Awaken Prayer Movement with a successful first movement that launched on the 21st January 2019. Our second Awaken Prayer Movement will commence on the 13th May 2019 and will run for 11 weeks. We believe that it’s now the time to invite the Gracepoint Congregation as a whole to partake in this movement.

All the details pertaining to the second Awaken Prayer Movement will be explained on the launch evening on the 13th May 2019.

How does it work?

20 leaders will be chosen from the teams which took part in the Leaders’ Awaken. Each leader will be delegated a Monday either in the morning or evening to lead the congregation in a prayer for revival, with a specific theme of prayer associated to readying Gracepoint for the move of the Holy Spirit. –  For more information please click the, “Prayer Journal” download button below.

Going forward

The vision is to grow the church through the Awaken Prayer Movement into all the churches across South Africa and wherever the Holy Spirit may lead.

” We can’t wait to see the plans that God has for us individually, the church and as a nation” – Bishop Gary Rivas

24/7 Prayer Room

24/7 Prayer Room

At Gracepoint we have a dedicated 24/7 Prayer Room where you can spend as much time as you need in reflective solitude with God, any time of the day or night, any day of the week.

Being a Christ follower means that one way we can stay connected with God is through prayer. Real focused prayer has the power to change and transform lives as well as all circumstances. God is always willing, but He encourages us to ASK, Seek and Knock, and he will respond.

(There are 2 venues for prayer, the Chapel and the Upper Room. The  Upper Room is located above the Bishop’s office in the ‘tower’ section of the church. You can enter from there without having to access the church main building.) The Chapel can be located off the foyer after passing the information desk.
