I’ve been married to Craig for 21 years. We have two incredible teen-age children. I did not grow up in a Christian home but after getting married at Bryanston Methodist Church we became members there and both my husband and I gave our lives to the Lord. We were involved in the Gracepoint (Lonehill Methodist as it was then called) church plant and I worked as the Children’s Pastor at Gracepoint from 2004 till 2007. We then moved to Kuala Lumpur for two years and after returning, I again worked at Gracepoint as the Children’s Pastor until I felt called back into full time teaching in 2016.
Living in another country taught us, as a family, so much and we truly learned to appreciate what family and what South Africa means to us. I have two siblings who live overseas and currently, my parents, stay with us in a cottage on our property.
As a potential mentor, I could perhaps offer some guidance to someone who is newly married or started a family. My husband, who was a professional golfer, spent weeks at a time overseas when our children were young, so perhaps, I can assist someone whose husband works long hours or travels a lot. Financially, we have been through ups and downs but God has always provided for us and helped us to make some tough choices. My prayer is, that God, will place me in a position to truly make a difference in another person’s life and I thank God for this opportunity.
